Curriculum

Silvia Serranti is Full Professor of Raw Materials Engineering at the Department of Chemical Engineering, Materials & Environment (DICMA), Faculty of Civil and Industrial Engineering, Sapienza University of Rome.
Research areas: Primary and secondary raw materials valorization, Critical raw materials, Urban mining, Recycling-oriented characterization, Sensor-based sorting techniques, Environmental monitoring, Microplastics.
She is responsible of two laboratories:
- "RawMaLab" (RAW MAterials LABoratory) at the Department of Chemical Engineering, Materials & Environment located in Rome.
- "Raw Materials Engineering Lab" at Faculty of Civil and Industrial Engineering located in Latina.
Labs are equipped with hyperspectral imaging sensors working in different wavelength ranges (from 400 to 2500 nm), high resolution field spectroradiometers (400-2500 nm), ultra-compact NIR spectrometers, micro-X-ray fluorescence spectrometer, handheld XRF, microFT-IR spectrometer, optical microscopes with digital cameras, thermal camera, laser diffraction particle size analyzer. Equipment for soldi waste processing: comminution, screening and separation units.
