NETWORKING FOR BIG DATA AND LABORATORY - SPRING TERM, 2024 - DATA CENTER MODULE

The Data Center module of NBD course will start on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, at 15 (3 pm), in classroom 7, building CU033 in the main campus of Sapienza.

Classes will be held in presence. In presence attendance is warmly recommended.

Teaching marial is available in the Google Drive associated with the Data Center module of the course, linked from the web page of NBD (https://web.uniroma1.it/netlab/networking-big-data-and-laboratory). In the associated Google drive rcording sof classes of 2022 are made available.

Andrea Baiocchi si è laureato in Ingegneria Elettronica e ha conseguito il Dottorato di Ricerca in Ingegneria dell Informazione e della Comunicazione presso l Università di Roma La Sapienza , dove è Professore Ordinario di Telecomunicazioni, dal gennaio 2005, afferendo al Dipartimento di Ingegneria dell Informazione, Elettronica e Telecomunicazioni (DIET).
Andrea Baiocchi ha lavorato sul controllo del traffico in reti a pacchetto, modelli e misure di traffico, teoria delle code, protocolli di accesso multiplo e gestione delle risorse radio in reti radiomobili cellulari. Gli interessi attuali di ricerca sono focalizzati sulle reti veicolari e applicazioni dell ICT ai sistemi di trasporto intelligente, sull evoluzione di WiFi, sul controllo di congestione in reti ad alta velocità, sulle tecniche di analisi e classificazione dei flussi di traffico a pacchetto. Queste attività sono state e sono attualmente sviluppate nell ambito di progetti finanziati in ambito nazionale (CNR, MIUR, POR) e internazionale (EU, ESA), oltre che in collaborazioni industriali e con altre Università. In questi progetti ha avuto anche ruoli di responsabilità e coordinamento di gruppi di ricerca. Andrea Baiocchi è autore di circa centosessanta pubblicazioni su riviste e atti di congressi internazionali, ha fatto parte di oltre settanta Comitati Tecnici di Programma di conferenze internazionali, ha collaborato per dieci anni alla redazione del Notiziario Tecnico Telecom Italia. Andrea è autore del libro "Network Traffic Engineering - Stochastic models and applications", Wiley, 2020.
Riguardo l attività didattica, ha insegnato corsi di Reti cellulari, Reti ottiche e Sicurezza nelle comunicazioni. Attualmente è docente di Telecomunicazioni per Ingegneria Gestionale e di Network Traffic Engineering. Ha una co-docenza del corso di Networking for big data per la laurea magistrale in Data Science.
