DESIGN-DRIVEN INNOVATION STUDIO
Master of Science in Product and Service Design
a.a. 2025 - 2026 - first semester, first year
Lessons start on Tuesday 7th of October 2025 from 9:00AM in the classroom F7 (first floor of venue via Flaminia 70, Faculty of Architecture).
Only for the Extra-EU students who still waiting for Visa, the lessons will be provided in "online in-presence" (following the same scheduling of the in classroom lessons).
To be part of the class it is required to be present from the first or, in any case, from the second lesson, and continue the attendance according to the scheduling. Considering the Design Studio activities the attendance is mandatory, it is not possible to pass the exam as non-attending students.
Google Classroom platform will be used to share the didactic material and to manage the in-progress deliveries.  The students will be invited to join on classroom platform after to the attendance of the first lesson.
The Studio is taught in English. Due the dimension of the laboratory classroom can be admitted to join the Studio no more than 10 Erasmus Students.
 
STRATEGIC DESIGN FOR FASHION
Master of Science in Fashion Studies
a.a. 2025 – 20246 - first semester, second year
Lessons start on Friday 3rd of October 2025 at 9:00AM in the classroom F4, (ground floor of venue via Flaminia 70, Faculty of Architecture).
The Syllabus will be presented during the first lesson, after all the didactic materials will be available on e-learning platform dedicated to the course.
All info or specific questions will be provided only during the lessons or by the e-learning platform.

Full Professor in Design at Sapienza University of Rome
Ph.D. in Design with a focus on Strategic Design.

Academic Activities
In Sapienza University of Rome, she teaches at the bachelor’s Degree in Design, at the International Master of Science in Product and Service Design, at the International Master’s Degree in Fashion Studies.
Her matters are about Product Design and Strategic Design with a special focus on Design for Service and Social Innovation for health-care system.
Currently in Sapienza University of Rome, she is:
- Co-Vice Dean of the Faculty of Architecture, with the delegation to the Didactic Programs.
- Chair of the International Master of Science in Product and Service Design at Sapienza University of Rome.
- Member of the of the Didactic Committee of the PhD Programme in Planning, Design and Technology.
She has been Visiting Professor in several Universities (among which Tongji University in Shanghai, Polytechnic of Hong Kong, Carleton University of Ottawa, International Design School for Advanced Studies of Seoul).

Research Activities
From 2011 to now, she has been Principal Investigator of more than 22 Research Projects and Investigator of more than 40 Research Projects financed by National and International Grants.
In particular, she develops these research activities in her capacity of:
- Director of the Interdepartmental Center 'Sapienza Design Research' where converge different disciplines, from Design to Industrial Engineering and Computer Science, from Communication to Multimedia Representation, to Psychology and Medicine.
- Scientific Coordinator of the Research Laboratory "Sapienza Design Factory" whose skills and equipment are targeted to Design and Digital Fabrication;
- Research Supervisor of the Laboratory of ‘Usability and Accessibility’ which is focused on Design for User-Experiences, in particular on the usability of digital technologies.
She is co-author of 9 patents about products as experimental results of her research activities.

Scientific Activities
She is author of more than 200 scientific works, published in scientific book series, scientific journals and conference proceedings in the field of Design.
Currently, she is:
- Co-Editor of the scientific Journal 'Design Principles and Practices' published in English by Common Ground Publishing (U.S.A.), ranked “Scientific Journal” for the Macro-Sector A08 by Anvur.
- Co-Editor of the scientific Book Series “ Design Experiences” published by ListLab

She is:
- member of the Steering Committee of the “European Academy of Design – EAD”;
- member of the of the Italian Scientific Society of Design (SID);
- member of the Assembly of the Italian University Conference of Design (CUID);
- member of the Design Management Institution (DMI);
- member of the Design Research Society (RDS).

She is also:
- co-Chair of the Working group “ReVeDA – Research Vector in Design and Art” of Cumulus Association;
- co-coordinator of the working group about Research (Tavolo sulle Tassonomie della Ricerca) of the Italian Scientific Society of Design (SID).

From 2005, she participates to several national and international conferences, symposium and seminars in the field of Design as invited speaker, selected speaker by blind peer review, keynote speaker.
She also has been scientific editor and chair of exhibitions, workshop, seminar, conferences within the international design community and to develop networks of research.

In particular she is: co-chair of the Annual International Conferences “Design Principles and Practices”; co-chair in 2017 of the 12th EAD European Academy of Design Conference “Design for Next”; co-chair of the 2020-2021 Cumulus Spring Conference “Design Culture(s)”.

Professional Activities
Respecting her full-time academic position, her professional activity is carried out as counselling for the Manufacturing Companies in the field of Strategic Design developing co-research in between University and Industrial partners.
