The aim of the module
The course aims to provide students with the knowledge necessary to provide adequate and comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing surgery. Therefore, guidance is provided care to completion of the notions of general surgery specialist and learned by the student.
Furthermore, the nursing care is presented in a systematic way by the application of
care planning according to the methodology NANDA.

Knowledge and skills expected
Implement a standard plan for a patient who undergoes surgery.
Implement plans for the standard Level II surgical diseases most frequently encountered.
Apply floor II level for some D.I. and P.C. encountered in surgery

Main urological diseases (prostate cancer, benign prostatic hyperplasia, LUTS, macroscopic hematuria, urolithiasis, urinary tract infection, etc.)
Bladder catheterization (catheter types, their use, ...)
The urological surgical instrumentation
Cystoscope and ureteroscope (rigid and flexible), resectoscope for transurethral resection (mono and bipolar), nephroscope (rigid and flexible)
Nursing management of the urological patient during instrumental diagnostics (uroflowmetry, urodynamics, ultrasound, prostate biopsy, renal biopsy, etc.)
Nursing management of the urological patient undergoing endoscopic surgery of the lower urinary tract (post-TURP, post-TURB, post cystolitotomy, etc.)
Nursing management of the urological patient after major urological surgeries (nephrectomy, radical cystectomy with urinary derivation, radical prostatectomy, etc.)
