Module: ORGANIZATIONAL MODELS OF ASSISTANCE AND PROFESSIONAL DEONTOLOGY
Main teaching objectives
Therefore, it is important to do the following:
• Provide some concepts explained in a simple way to nursing students to help them understand the functioning of the system in which they will find themselves practising their profession.
• At the end of the course, the student will :
1) acquire basic knowledge and key elements of nursing management,
2) know the organisation and functions of nursing services and care models, and
3) be oriented within a health organisation.
• To understand the main functions of nursing management , the Code of Ethics and the main laws relating to the training and professional practices of nurses.

Learning outcomes:
Students must know the following:
• The health organisation, its complex organisational structures, the hospital care and organisation models
• Evolution and history of the nursing profession; How has nursing changed over the years? Legislation and nursing regulations in Italy and Europe.
• Nursing management: The organisational structure of the nursing service department, organisation and function of nursing services—hospital and community, Sustainable Development Goals and public health
• Nursing models: Organisational methods and work analysis. The main models are hospital care and home care.
• The principal models of nursing care delivery: primary nursing, individual patient care, team nursing and functional nursing, modular care system, patient care areas, case management, the chronic care model, bed management
• Special organisation system: Integrated Health Care models Health-Social Care models for the elderly and frail
• Nurse care manager post-acute hospitalisation unit, community hospital or country hospital (CH), hospice
• New organisational model integrated into health and social responses to the needs of the population.
• Integrated care models pertinent to hospital–territory integration and the integrated care pathway
• Family and community nursing. es. Calgary Family Assessment Model, and Stanford Model.
• The new deontological code of nurses (2019, 2025)
• Order of Nursing Professions (OPI) and the National Federation of Orders for Nursing Professions (FNOPI) organisation and functions
• Main national and international nursing associations

Students are expected to be able to do the following:
• Use the informative tools, integrative, operative (meetings, case studies, etc.) for the improvement of quality care (guidelines, protocol, procedure, nursing folder)
• Use continuous medical education (ECM).
• Engage in critical thinking.

To pass the exam the student must obtain a grade upper than 18/30 in each module. The student must demonstrate that he has acquired sufficient knowledge of the subjects of the course, a basic knowledge of the topics of the lessons and be able to apply the ethical principles of the medical practices
To achieve a score of 30/30 cum laude, the student must demonstrate that he has acquired excellent knowledge of all the topics covered during the course, being able to link them in a logical and consistent way
