Building engineering-architecture

The target of the class is to give to the students, attending the second year of “Building Engineering-architecture” course, the basic knowledge of materials and building techniques in architecture. The target is also to create a complete and coherent architectural-design. The course defines the systemic reading of the building and wants to show how every constructive choice has to be contextualized during the operative praxis of design. The technical and constructive knowledge are necessary - but are not enough - for the students to planning a building.

It is desirable for optimal enjoyment of the course to have taken the exams in

- chemistry/materials technology

Attending to the laboratories and to the workshop is mandatory

Achievement of the intended objectives is avalued through:
- individual training exercise
- elaboration of a project
- oral on the theory of the course

The course has mandatory attendance, so the exercises will be evaluated as they are conducted, while the outcome of the project will be evaluated in the examination and discussed after the oral test.
