The course presents the central topics of sociolinguistic, italian linguistic framework and education in italian language.

Specific skills

Knowledge and understanding
The student will have to demonstrate the knowledge and understanding of the concepts foreseen by the course, with attention to the relative educational applications, according to scientific literature and ministerial documents; the student will know the scientific literature on the topics covered and will be able to comment on it critically.

Applying knowledge and understanding
The student will be able to describe the Italian contemporary language and its variability, to formulate hypotheses in the context of Italian-Romance sociolinguistic and language teaching on the basis of the concepts and analytical tools acquired, to recognize and to plan educational activities.

Making judgements
The student will be able to move freely and independently between problems and topics related to sociolinguistics, linguistic education, and will be able to reason on the teaching activities.

Communication skills
The student must know how to communicate with specialists in sociolinguistic and glottodidactic studies and non-specialists the concepts of the discipline with clarity, propriety of language and using the technical terminology of the discipline.

Learning skills
The student will have to know how to use and find the tools to deepen and update (constantly and autonomously) the knowledge in the disciplinary area, according to his own scientific interests and to the real educational needs.
