General objectives: the course, delivered in lectures, enables the student to master the subject (knowledge) in order to use it and apply it in other fields of study with the correct use of specific technical language (skills).

Specific objectives: the course
- provides the student with knowledge and understanding of the basic elements and main issues relating to musicology of the Asian area from a historical-musical and anthropological-cultural perspective;
- develops their autonomous ability to relate what they have learned with other historical and cultural disciplines, literature, theater, art, politics;
- enables him to use the acquired knowledge and the specific language learned for the so-called “transversal skills” (independent judgment, communication skills).

The course aims to provide basic elements that will put into context the motivations that in the second half of the XVIII Century, led theater to become a true “laboratory of soul and emotions”: the place to observe and examine the inner self of the human being, the passions and the impulses of the soul; also focusing on how the phenomenon influenced the stage productions, both on the level of audience fruition and cultural reception.
