Module: ORGANIZATIONAL MODELS OF ASSISTANCE AND PROFESSIONAL DEONTOLOGY
At the end of the course, the student will be able to:
• Know the main organizational models of healthcare, with particular attention to the evolution of nursing organization in hospital, territorial and community settings;
• Understand the concepts of taking charge, continuity of care and multi-professional integration;
• Know the Nurse's Code of Ethics and understand its importance as an ethical and regulatory guide in daily practice;
• Know the concepts of Risk Management;
• Know the regulations and legislative references that regulate professional responsibility and the protection of the rights of the person assisted;
• Understand the concepts of: Organization by intensity of care, which provides for the distribution of patients based on clinical-care complexity, and the role of the nurse at different levels (high, medium, low intensity); Models of taking charge and continuity of care, which guarantee appropriate assistance throughout the patient's care pathway; PDTA (Diagnostic-Therapeutic Assistance Pathways) as a multi-professional and multidisciplinary integration tool, aimed at standardizing care, improving quality and optimizing resources; “Hub and spoke” model, the network healthcare organization system between highly specialized central structures (hub) and peripheral structures (spoke), in order to ensure equity, appropriateness and efficiency of care, especially in time-dependent networks (e.g. stroke network, trauma network).

Evolution and developments of bioethics: the seasons of ethics and the principles of bioethics, Belmont report; from Van Ranslasser Potter to the Encyclopedia of Bioethics, to the Bioethics Committees.
Areas of bioethics and applied bioethics: ethical problems of health professions, emerging ethical problems in the field of human research, social problems connected to health policies. Informed consent, euthanasia, transplants, medically assisted procreation.
