Objectives

Upon completion of the course students must know the theoretical and practical elements of general reference for the understanding and governance of the business system in the current international and national competitive context; the relevant dynamics that characterize the management of a company organization as well as the foundations of labor law.

At the end of the course, students must be able to link the empirical evidence to the most widespread economic models of the real economy and be able to recognize the relevant dynamics that characterize the management of a company health organization and be able to formulate strategic solutions hypotheses of certain business critical issues.

Learning outcomes

Module:
The Course aims to provide students with basic knowledge of the main economic dimensions of organizations that provide healthcare services. In particular, students will be able to understand the main economic laws to which the production of healthcare services is subject, the methods and principles of the organization of healthcare services according to economic criteria (effectiveness and efficiency), with also reference to the ethical and social issues that such activities entail. Furthermore, the students will be able to understand the role that the Human Resources play in the production of health services and the ways in which they are managed and developed for the purposes of the quality of the services provided.

- Knowing the rights and duties of the parties in the employment relationship.
- Understanding the mechanisms for protecting workers in case of violation of their rights, such as wrongful termination or workplace discrimination.
- Being able to interpret relevant legislation and apply it to practical cases related to the employment relationship.
- Being able to critically evaluate legal decisions related to labor law and their impact on professional practice and society.
- Being able to communicate one's knowledge of labor law clearly and accurately, both in writing and orally.

Definition, function and sources of labor law. Historical profile of Italian trade union law. Trade union freedom.

COLLECTIVE LABOUR LAW
The trade union organization. Trade union activity in general.
The union activity in the company in the law n. 300 of 1970. The company trade union representatives. The regulations of the r.s.a. and the transition from union representation to the legal relevance of representativeness.
The r.s.u. and their contractual discipline (single text on the representation of 10 January 2014).
Judicial protection of trade union activity. The repression of anti-union behavior. The collective agreement. Concept, content and effects.
The indefeasibility of the collective agreement.
The subjective effectiveness of the collective agreement. The inactuation of the art. 39 of the Constitution and the extension of the collective agreement beyond the scope of the members of the stipulating trade union. Expiry, ultractivity, withdrawal.

Search of data and documentary sources on the net
This module will address the issue of searching for information and documents from appropriate sources. Such a simple problem, useful also for assessing and adjusting the practical skills of the students, is particularly important in the profile of many professionals aiming at continuous updates, following the evolution of their own discipline and the technologies supporting their activities.
Data organization and processing
Using common office automation tools - in particular, the spreadsheet - simple techniques to organize and exploit data will be proposed, satisfying the needs arising from professional practice.
Communication and Social Networks
A brief review and comparison of the communication tools available in the network will be introduced; these are useful to keep in touch with groups of colleagues and patients and to make easily accessible a professional profile.
Basic Web Development
Creating simple websites is facilitated by using development environments intended for end-users. We will consider CMS's (Content Management Systems) which support a rapid development of simple, but effective, websites to showcase professional skills and activities to the public.

Following paragraph 5 of the Educational Regulations of the Dental Hygiene Course, the student is required to attend the educational and professional training activities of the CLID. Attendance at frontal lessons for a number of hours equal to or greater than 67% of the hours assigned to the individual modules is required, in accordance with the relevant European legislation. Attendance is verified by teachers through signature/call sheets on updated lists provided by the Teaching Secretariat according to what is established by the CCLID, on indication of the Dean's Office. The certificate of attendance to the compulsory teaching activities of a teaching course is necessary for the student to take the relevant exam.

Exam mode

The final evaluation will consist of a written test, followed (in the case of a grade equal to or higher than 18/30 reported in the written test) by an oral exam. The final grade will be expressed out of thirty, and will be an average of the written and oral exam's grades.

The evaluation is based on the following criteria:
- completeness of the answer;
- language skills;
- logic skills in the argumentation;
- ability to express concepts;

To pass the exam you must obtain a grade of not less than 18/30 in each module. The student must demonstrate that he has acquired sufficient knowledge of the topics covered during the course.
To achieve a score of 30/30 cum laude, the student must demonstrate that he has acquired excellent knowledge of all the topics covered during the course, being able to link them in a logical and consistent way.
