The course aims to train dental professionals able to adopt specific approaches and protocols necessary for the treatment and care of oral hygiene in patients in developmental age affected by various degrees of disability and who often present severely compromised oral conditions. At the end of the course the student must know the dental problems in pediatric patients and in patients with special needs, with particular attention to treatments for the prevention of periodontal pathology, caries and malocclusions. The student must know the methodology for a correct clinical approach to the problems of the developmental age, and must know how to identify the epidemiological, etiopathogenetic and clinical aspects of systemic diseases by integrating them with the possible clinical manifestations that can manifest themselves in the stomatognathic apparatus. At the end of the course the student must know how to prepare primary prevention interventions in pediatric patients and in patients with special needs.

Following paragraph 5 of the Regulations of the Dental Hygiene School, the student is required to attend educational activities, formal, non-formal, vocational. The frequency is checked by the teachers through signature / updated lists provided by the Academic Office, as established by CCLID. The certificate of mandatory attendance to the teaching course is required to the student to be admitted at the final test.

To pass the exam you must obtain a grade of not less than 18/30 in each module. The student must demonstrate that he has acquired sufficient knowledge of the topics covered, a basic knowledge of the topics covered and is able to autonomously exert a treatment plan.
To achieve a score of 30/30 cum laude, the student must demonstrate that he has acquired excellent knowledge of all the topics covered during the course, being able to link them in a logical and consistent way.Both tests contribute to the final vote.
