Explain the epidemiological, etiopathogenetic, clinical and therapeutic aspects of infection by staphylococci, streptococci, other bacteria, viruses and fungi of the upper airway. Describe the etiopathogenesis, clinical manifestations, and guidelines for therapeutic indications for diagnostic tests. Aim in the general aspects of the epidemiology and clinical manifestations of upper respiratory tract infections. Explain the classifications, the etiopathogenesis, epidemiology, clinical manifestations, diagnostic and therapeutic guidelines for infections of the upper respiratory tract. Describe the essential elements in the etiopathogenesis and clinical manifestations the most frequent opportunistic infections (eg candidiasis). • Pathology of the nose and paranasal sinuses adenoids. Chronic sinusitis and acute bacterial etiology, bacterial and viral rhinitis. • Pathology of the pharynx and larynx acute tonsillitis bacterial and viral infections. Chronic tonsillitis and focal disease. Laryngitis, acute and chronic bacterial and viral infections.

To pass the exam the student must obtain not less than 18/30 in each module. The student must demonstrate that he has acquired sufficient knowledge of the topics covered during the course. To achieve a score of 30/30 cum laude the student must instead demonstrate that he has acquired excellent knowledge of all the topics covered during the course, showing ability with the use of technical terms and correct linguistic expressions.
