Learning outcomes

Module: General pathology
General Course Objectives:
Understand the etiological bases and pathogenetic mechanisms of major human pathologies.
Recognize how molecular and cellular foundations of pathological processes contribute to the development of innovative diagnostic and therapeutic strategies in personalized medicine.
Familiarize yourself with the fundamental physiopathological mechanisms of major systems and organs.
Specific Course Objectives:
Knowledge and understanding: Passing the exam ensures knowledge of etiological bases and pathogenetic mechanisms of major human diseases, as well as understanding fundamental physiopathological mechanisms of major systems and organs.
Application of knowledge and understanding: Passing the exam guarantees the ability to appreciate how molecular and cellular foundations of pathological processes are valuable for developing innovative diagnostic and therapeutic strategies in personalized medicine.
Autonomy of judgment: Passing the exam implies the capacity to critically evaluate etiological bases and pathogenetic mechanisms of major human diseases, along with understanding fundamental physiopathological mechanisms.
Communication skills: Passing the exam involves effectively using communication tools specific to scientific publications. These skills are acquired through emphasis on scientific terminology and technical rhetoric.
Learning capacity: Passing the exam signifies transversal learning abilities common to the logic of scientific investigation in the biomedical field.

Prerequisites

Module: General pathology
Prerequisites:
Students must have the necessary knowledge of microbiology, biochemistry, genetics, cell biology, physiology, and anatomy.

Teaching Methods:
The course primarily consists of lectures, supplemented by some exercises.
Lectures delve into key aspects of pathology and general physiopathology.
Exposure to scientific problems and research techniques in biomedicine fosters autonomy of judgment, enhances communication skills, develops problem-solving abilities, and cultivates generalizable learning skills across different contexts.

Module: Pathophysiology general
-At the beginning of the didactic activity the student must know the basics of genetics, biochemistry, molecular and cellular biology.
