Learning outcomes

Module:
Knowledge of the morphological aspects of epithelial and non-epithelial elements in the cytology of the uterine cervix.
Role of cytology for exfoliation, needle aspiration and apposition and ancillary techniques in the pathology of the various systems (lung, breast, thyroid, effusions, lymph nodes, female genital and urinary tracts).

Module:
Preparation of cytological preparations obtained by exfoliation, fine needle aspiration and apposition.
Liquid phase cytology.
Use of the ROSE technique (rapid on site cytology).
Cytoincluded preparation and immunocytochemical techniques.

Module:
Knowledge of the basic principles of cell cultures and the possibilities of their use in many experimental fields (basic research and diagnostics). Knowledge of the architecture of a cell culture laboratory. Knowledge and safety regulations for the correct use of instrumentation, reagents and materials for cell cultures. Basic knowledge of the biological risk associated with the manipulation of human cells and the fundamental safety procedures to be put into practice in the cell culture laboratory. Basic practical skills for the preparation and propagation of primary cell cultures and cell lines.
