The course aims to provide knowledge and understanding of the methodological, critical and applicable
aspects of the Discipline; it proposes general questions and specific perspectives by focusing on their
interactions on a global scale; it shows the variability of fields of interest; it enables the student to master
the specific topics in order to use them and apply them in other fields of study while using the correct
specific language. With the acquired knowledge the student will be able to develop autonomous ability of
connections with other disciplines in the various historical epochs and cultural contexts.

Educational objectives

A) Acquisition of a solid working methodology also in relation to the most recent research guidelines of the discipline, which may come into synergy with one of the three directions of the MA programme (didactical, philological-literary-metalinguistic, translational direction)
B) Knowledge of the canonical and non-canonical lines of the discipline, of its history, and application on some case studies and fundamental problems able to complete or contextualize the linguistic and literary paths of specialization.
