Objectives
At the end of the course the student should know topics of descriptive statistics, elements of probability, statistical methods for qualitative and quantitative data, multivariate analysis, sensitivity, specificity, predictive value.
Learning outcomes
Module:
Becoming familiar with a spreadsheet is the first step toward gaining advanced skills in using this powerful tool. Getting started means understanding the basics: how to create and save a file, insert and edit data, and navigate between cells and sheets. The student is therefore expected to learn to use essential functions such as basic mathematical formulas, copy-paste, and cell formatting to improve the readability of data.
The final objective is for the student to achieve independent and effective use of the worksheet. This means not only being able to perform specific tasks without assistance, but also knowing how to resolve unexpected problems, optimize processes, and customize the worksheet to fit the specific needs of a project or analysis. In essence, mastering a spreadsheet makes Excel a versatile resource for organizing, analyzing and presenting data.
Module:
The student is expected to understand and manage basic synthetic indicators useful for the description of biomedical phenomena, as well as the ability to identify elementary methodologies for analyzing biological data. At the end of the module, the student will have the basic theoretical and methodological knowledge necessary for such analyzes and for understanding some types of scientific research results in the biomedical field.
Module:
Al termine del corso, lo studente possiede conoscenze di base di epidemiologia, esaminare pubblicazioni scientifiche e individuare soluzioni specifiche per promuovere la salute individuale e pubblica utilizzando le migliori evidenze scientifiche disponibili.
