Students must demonstrate:
a) that they have acquired knowledge and comprehension skills in FL in a field of study at post-secondary level;
b) that they have developed the ability to collect and interpret data useful for making autonomous judgements, including reflection on social, scientific or ethical issues related to them, also in a comparative dimension between the Italian and Spanish-speaking worlds;
c) to be able to communicate in the FL information, ideas, problems and solutions to specialist and non-specialist interlocutors;
d) to have acquired the learning skills necessary to undertake subsequent studies in the FL with a high degree of autonomy.

A B1 level in the Spanish language is required to take the exam.
The level is tested in the following ways:
- native of a Spanish-speaking country with at least one course of study in the country of origin
- higher bachiller diploma (double qualification)
- DELE, SIELE or CELU at least B1 level obtained from 2022 onwards
- Passed the level test administered as part of the lectureship course

The course will deal with the following topics:
- Spanish and its varieties
- Spain and Hispanic America: history of linguistic and cultural encounters/clashes
- Spanish language, history and society
- Spanish in contact with other languages
- Latin American migration in Italy and Rome

Materiale di studio per i 9 CFU. Le studentesse e gli studenti di 9 CFU dovranno aggiungere al materiale elencato precedentemente la visione dei seguenti film in lingua spagnola, di cui argomenteranno nella prova orale.

The course includes lectures, aimed at providing basic knowledge of the fundamental topics of Spanish and Hispano-American language and culture, exercises and laboratories aimed at achieving communicative competence, thematic in-depth seminars with external guests, through which to exercise the analytical skills on sociolinguistic and historico-cultural phenomena. Telematic tools will also be used to practice language in autonomous learning spaces.

For the 6 CFUs there is a written test:
Students will have 35 minutes to answer 32 closed items related to the text and study materials indicated in the syllabus. The test is administered via the moodle platform and 51% of the questions must be answered correctly in order to obtain a sufficient grade.

For the 9 CFUs there is a written test, as for the 6 CFU, and an oral test:
In the oral test, students will have to speak about Spanish/Latin American films indicated in the programme, duration 10 minutes.
