Objectives

The main outcome of this course is to provide the students with the basics of Environmental Law with a specific focus on the Italian, European and International regulatory Framework.
Special attention is devoted to the practical implications of Environmental Law concerning several topics addressed in the Master’s Degree (Pollution, Land Planning etc.), as well as to the implications affecting the professional activity of the Environmental Engineer.

Ability to orient oneself in the field of environmental law, with particular reference to the examination of regulatory texts and administrative acts.

Lessons mode

Frontal teaching with the use of slides and material taken from the institutional websites of the administrative authorities

Not mandatory, but strongly suggested.

Exam mode

The oral exam will consist of the presentation of a topic chosen from the program and the answer to two additional questions, formulated by the teacher, one on the first part of the program and the other on the second part. The level of learning and understanding of the institutes taught will be assessed, as well as the language skills with respect to the most common terms used in legal language.
To pass the exam, the student must achieve a grade of no less than 18/30 and demonstrate that he/she has achieved sufficient knowledge of the course topics that have been evaluated, as well as having developed the ability to frame and define them.
To achieve the maximum grade (30/30) with honors, an excellent knowledge of the topics being evaluated must be demonstrated, as well as the ability to make connections between these and other related topics and therefore to have an overall understanding of the subject matter covered in the course.
