Lecturers
Learning outcomes
Learning the structure and operation in normal and abnormal steady-state behavior as well as electrical and electromechanical transients of power electric systems consisting of AAT/AT/MT/ transmission and distribution networks
Prerequisites
Basic knowledge of electrical engineering and electrical machines.
Programme
Structure of the electric power generation, transmission and distribution system. Evaluation of steady state operation of lines, transformer-generators and power grids. Calculation of symmetrical and asymmetrical short circuit currents. Neutral operation of AAT/AT/TBT networks. Angular stability of transmission. Frequency and voltage regulation. Overvoltages.

Lessons mode
Eight hours per week of face-to-face teaching spread over four days according to the schedule set by the faculty.
Frequency
Attendance is not mandatory.
Exam mode
The assessment consists of a 3-hour written test concerning the solving of numerical exercises and an oral test consisting of two theory questions.
Example exam questions
Calculation of the steady-state behavior and of the short-circuit three-phase and single-phase currents in an electrical system consisting of generator, transformer, line and load.
Static, transient and dynamic angular stability.
