At the end of the course the student must know the basic elements of
connection between medicine and law and acquire
knowledge about different risk factors and occupational diseases
in the health professions also in relation to the regulations in force.
Upon completion of the course the student must know how to carry out the professional activity
in compliance with the legal rules and be aware of the main ones
deontological obligations in force in the profession.

In order to understand the contents of the teaching and achieve the learning objectives, at the beginning of the teaching activities foreseen by the teaching module the student must possess the knowledge and elements preparatory to the evaluation and management of work risks pursuant to Legislative Decree 81 /08 subsequent modifications and additions.

Upon completion of the course the student must be able to carry out an accurate risk assessment and the related management of the same in accordance with the aforementioned current legislation.

Required preparatory requirements: all first year exams.

* General characteristics of infectious diseases. Epidemiology and prevention of infectious diseases;
* Epidemiological chain of infectious diseases;
* Foodborne and waterborne infections;
* Airborne infections;
* Bloodborne infections;
Infectious diseases at high risk of transmission in the dental health care setting: Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, Hepatitis delta, AIDS, Covid-19, Tuberculosis, Influenza, Meningitis, Varicella, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, infection from methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). Emergent infectious diseases could be also discussed in the event that the risk for their transmission in the dental health care setting is high or that they are pandemic.

Module: SAFETY IN WORKING ENVIRONMENTS
Following paragraph 5 of the Regulations of the Dental Hygiene School, the student is required to attend educational activities, formal, non-formal, vocational. The frequency is checked by the teachers through signature / updated lists provided by the Academic Office, as established by CCLID. The certificate of mandatory attendance to the teaching course is required to the student to be admitted at the final test.

Module: SAFETY IN WORKING ENVIRONMENTS
To pass the exam you must achieve a grade of no less than 18/30 in each module. The student must demonstrate that he has acquired sufficient knowledge of the topics in relation to Legislative Decree 81/08 as amended.
To achieve a score of 30/30 cum laude, the student must demonstrate that he has acquired excellent knowledge of all the topics covered during the course, being able to connect them in a logical and coherent way. The exam consists of an oral test and will be based on an overall evaluation, taking into account attendance at lectures (at least 66%), active participation, reasoning and self-study ability.
