Learning outcomes
Expected learning outcomes at the end of the Histology module:
- understand the morphology and structure of tissues
- be able to describe and interpret a histological structure
- be aware of the relationship between structure and function in tissues to understand regulatory mechanisms and human pathologies
Expected learning outcomes at the end of the Anatomy module:
Upon completion of the course, students should: (i) understand the basics of human anatomy, (ii) be able to make comparisons of the general morpho-functional organization of the various systems, and (iii) be able to describe the individual organs of the various systems from a macroscopic, topographical, and microscopic perspective using correct terminology.
Expected learning outcomes at the end of the Physiology module:
The course aims to provide students with basic knowledge of the functioning of cells, organs, and body systems, also considering the relationships (at various levels) between structure and function. The first part of the course will address transport mechanisms across biological barriers and concepts related to electrophysiology and the conduction of electrical signals. The second part will explore in detail the mechanisms underlying muscular, cardiovascular, respiratory, gastrointestinal, and renal physiology.
Prerequisites
Knowledge of Cellular and Molecular Biology
