Objectives

General aims
Acquisition of a clinical logic of the intervention, able to deal with the questions from different contexts (people, groups, organization).

Specific aims
knowledge and understanding
Understanding the question proposed by the client, or the meaning of the proposed report.

applying knowledge and understanding
Identify the relationship between the proposed question and the development of the intervention with reference to the setting and the technique.

making judgements
Develop the ability to deal with the possible designs of the intervention, identifying criteria to choose which one to implement.

communication skills
Learn the possible verbalizations in conducting a clinical interview, and the acquisition of an appropriate psychological language in the professional relationship.

learning skills
Learning to orient oneself among the different sources of knowledge, acquiring the ability to self-update according to the different professional contexts.

Prerequisites

Module: ADVANCED TOPICS IN CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGY
From the point of view of theoretical prerequisites, a good knowledge of dynamic psychology is necessary, in particular object relations theory.
As regards the logical prerequisites, the following are necessary: deductive and abductive logical reasoning skills; ability to synthesize; tolerance towards the ambiguity of the stimulus and activation of the exploratory capacity; ability to build hypotheses and identify the correct disconfirmation procedures. Good basic general culture is very important.



Module: THEORY BASED TECHNIQUE OF CLINIC INTERVENTION

to plan interventions starting from the request for intervention posed by a client in healthcare, educational, organizational, individual psychological consultancy and community contexts (36 hours).


Module: THEORY BASED TECHNIQUE OF CLINIC INTERVENTION
Theories of mind: from information processing to Matte Blanco's bi-logic, the dynamics of mental positions by M. Klein (8 hours). Object relations theory applied to intervention questions (4 hours). Affective symbolization, collusion and local culture. Individualist paradigm and individual context paradigm (8 hours). Elements of psychodynamic psychopathology in a relational key (4 hours) Case study methodology: observation and interpretation; data collection and analysis. Clinical interview, interview, questionnaires (8 hours). Characteristics of the labor market for psychologists: healthcare, educational, productive, community, international contexts; freelance work (8 hours)
