Objectives
The course aims to provide students with the basic conceptual and practical skills as future professionals, specifically related to the need analysis, project and evaluation of organizational training interventions. A psychosocial approach and a learning organization framework will be adopted.
Knowledge and understanding.
At the end of the course, students will know main theories and models on the organizational training process, will be able to identify the role some organizational factors play on the training process (e.g., organizational culture) and to choose adequate technique for training interventions management.
Applying knowledge and under-standing.
The course includes interactive lessons, with examples, work on case study and exercises during the work-shop lessons. Applying theory to practice will support the students’ ability, at the end of the course, to project a training intervention, adapting the acquired knowledge to specific organizational contexts and to possible critical issues. Students will also develop the basic skills for the management of a training intervention.
Making judgements.
In order to enhance the students' critical and judgmental abilities, the teacher will promote discussions on different theoretical models, intervention methods and relevant issues to design, manage and evaluate an organizational training intervention. In the workshop activities, examples of organizational training practices are shown, and students are required to project and simulate training sessions.
Communication skills.
During the lessons, students’ active participation to theoretical discussions is enhanced, to improve their ability to communicate, using the proper terminology and sharing reflections about the different models. Further, the workshop includes both discussions in the work groups and a public presentation of the final work.
Learning skills.
At the end of the course students will have acquired the skills needed to autonomously strengthen the theo-retical, methodological and technical knowledge to act as professionals for organizational training and for the organizational learning development.
