To provide the knowledge necessary to evaluate the link between microstructure and properties of materials. Explain the intercation between materials and the environment.To know the link between microstructure and properties of materials.Critically analyse the results of mechanical tests on materials.Estimate the intercation between materials and the environment.

The first objective of this course is to supply the student with the basic elements of hydraulics and hydrology essential for facing simple water resources management and water networks planning and designing problems in urban environment. Urban water networks mainly devoted to water supply and water drainage and sewerage will be described in their structural and functional aspects. The fundamental principles for their planning, design and management will be also provided.

Knowledge of the basic principles regarding materials science and technology (solid rigid materials, structurals and accessories) for civil engineering (special concrete, composite materials, plastics, glass and adhesives).
Provide the basic knowledge on control of engineering materials in respect of current regulation (italian and european standards). Provide to the right choice of a material taking into account its operative conditions.

The course covers topics of heat engineering plant aimed at in-depth understanding of all the issues related to heating and air conditioning systems, also with concepts for water and sanitation and fire protection. The course allows students to be able to learn the techniques, the theoretical fundamentals and applications needed for the sizing of all major heating and air conditioning, hydraulic networks for the distribution of hot and chilled air distribution networks for the distribution air conditioning. The course also enables students to understand and deepen the ways of regulation of these plants to size the central heating and cooling necessary for the production of hot fluids and refrigerated. Furthermore, the regulatory aspects will be treated from the standpoint of fire of the most frequent activity. The concepts learned in the course will enable students to cope with designs on building greater awareness and knowledge of all significant interference that normally occur between architectural design and heat engineering and compliance with fire regulations. This preparation will allow the proper development of the architecture for all buildings such as offices, hotels, hospitals, shopping centers, universities, etc.., But also to allow a skill that will be finalized as part of a professional integration. For the learning of the subjects covered during the course requires knowledge of the basics learned through the study of Technical Physics and a certain ability in dealing with the various issues treated much plant application.

This year's theme: stone buildings. The course aims to provide the
capability to understand the specific nature of the stone and the rules
of his expressive language, knowing how to achieve the best results thru
the knowledge of technology application and production processes, with a
strong cultural base on the use of the material in modern and
contemporary architecture.

The course aims to give students a greater capacity in architectural design. It is for them an upgrade regarding what learned earlier; specially focused on autonomy and design maturity needed to start with full awareness the profession of engineer-architect.The given theme for the project will address a complex issue both for the space anf the typological and functional articulation of the program, that will have also urban implications for its relationship with the town. The highest level of depth and detail will be achieved in each proposed solution.

Ability of analysis and design of structural interventions on monuments and
architectural heritage.

Considering the importance as the first form of knowledge and
investigation not only metric-dimensional, but also historical and
documentary of a good architecture seen in its overall configuration,
also referred to the territorial and urban context, the purpose of the
course is to help to drive future engineers-architects of a methodology
for knowledge acquisition and investigation of architecture through
proper knowledge of advanced techniques and tools to detect and
represent.

The aim of the course is giving to the students methods and notions to make them able to approach the rehabilitation project. The course presents them criteria to select the different operative and technical solutions in conservation/modification existing heritage.The principal topic of the course is the “progetto sull’esistente” (existing building design) both in conservation and in rehabilitation of the building organism with different phases of knowledge and understanding of the specific spatial and technique components

The target of the class is to give to the students, attending the second year of “Building Engineering-architecture” course, the basic knowledge of materials and building techniques in architecture. The target is also to create a complete and coherent architectural-design. The course defines the systemic reading of the building and wants to show how every constructive choice has to be contextualized during the operative praxis of design. The technical and constructive knowledge are necessary - but are not enough - for the students to planning a building.

The course aims to indicate the general problems of the architectural survay, refund of his activity was restored infographics and design project. The Laboratory will be directed mainly to the study design and implementation of various drawings that make up the project of a building. The general issue of the architectural survey will be completed by an architectural analysis of both historical developments in methodological and operational aspects.
