The final degree exam consists of the preparation and discussion of a report developed independently by the student on issues that characterize Management Engineering. The methods for preparing the report must be agreed with a reference professor who acts as supervisor.

The final degree exam is assigned to the student and, subsequently, delivered and approved by the supervisor through a special electronic procedure.

As a rule, the preparatory activity for the preparation of the final degree exam consists in the participation in a laboratory course, supplementary to the one already inserted by the student in his/her study plan, held by a group of professors that includes the supervisor. For example, if the student has entered the Laboratory named “Laboratory of Operations Research” in the study plan, he/she may take part in preparing the final degree exam in the Laboratory named “Laboratory of Economics and Management Engineering” (typically, a business game simulating a business and market context, in which the graduating student is called to make appropriate decisions based on the methodologies acquired throughout the Bachelors Programme).

The determination of the final Degree mark by the commission appointed for this purpose is based on the guidelines established by the Area Educational Board (AEB), available on the web page of the Bachelors, according to criteria such as the weighted average of the marks obtained in the exams of the study plan (expressed in one hundred and ten), the time taken to complete the Bachelors and the evaluation of the final report.
