Graduation

Final exam

The final exam consists in carrying out of thesis of a theoretical, experimental and/or planning nature on a specific topic linked to themes that characterize the Masters Degree course. The thesis work must be developed on the basis of an investigation activity, critical analysis and synthesis of the relative available documentation and must include an original contribution at the methodological and/or applicative level. This work must be carried out autonomously by the student, under the guidance of a supervisor (teacher belonging to the board of the teaching area or authorized by it). The thesis work can be conducted in collaboration with Italian and foreign institutions, public and private institutions, manufacturing companies and services and/or research centers operating in the sector of interest. The thesis can eventually be written in English.
The final exam is assigned to the student and, subsequently, delivered by the student and approved by the supervisor through a special electronic procedure. 18 ECTS are awarded to the final exam. The student may request to dedicate to the preparation of the thesis 3 additional ECTSs, typically provided for the 'additional training activities', which usually consist of the attendance of one of the laboratory courses provided under the master's degree program.
The thesis must be discussed in the presence of a commission appointed for this purpose. The determination of the final degree mark by the commission takes place on the basis of the guidelines established by the Area Educational Board (AEB), available on the web page of the study course, according to criteria such as the weighted average of the marks obtained in the exams related to the courses (expressed in 110), the time taken to complete the course of studies, specific experiences of the candidate (such as, for example, studies carried out and exams taken abroad), the evaluation of the work done for the preparation of the written dissertation (in terms of commitment, degree of autonomy, rigor of the analysis, quality of the results obtained) and the expositive ability of the graduating student (in terms of clarity, completeness and effectiveness of the synthesis of the work carried out).

Si comunica che per la III sessione di Laurea, la scadenza per la presentazione della domanda è il 23 giugno. Le sedute di laurea si terranno in una data compresa tra il 22 e il 31 luglio 2020.
