STUDY PLAN 2021-2022

Study plans are prepared on-line via (Infostud) and must be submitted during a time window that will reopen from November 2021 and until July 30, 2022, for the academic year (A.Y.) 2021/2022. In the meantime, you can start following the courses you prefer and which you will then insert in the study plan when the window for the compilation opens.

Submission of the  study plan  is mandatory for all students enrolled starting from the academic year 2011-2012; therefore all the students enrolled in the A.Y. 2021/2022, and all those enrolled in previous years who have not yet done so, must submit it during the above dates.

It is possible to submit the study plan only once for each academic year, except in extraordinary cases authorized by the Director of the degree programme. Therefore, we invite you to fill in the study plan without haste and submit it only when you are sure of the choices you have made.

Students who have completed the study plan in the the A.Y. 2020/202, and who intend to make changes, can proceed directly to a new compilation, during the time window indicate above.

Once the study plan has been completed for the A.Y. 2021/22 and approved, to change again the study plan in the same time window, will be possible only after the authorization of the Director of their degree programme.

To do so, the student should  request the cancellation of the already approved study plan by sending an email to magistralicoris@uniroma1.it, Students must indicate in the cancellation request: name, surname, student number (matricola) and reason for the request. If the motivation will be considered valid, the director will accept the request, the Educational Affairs Office will proceed with the cancellation and the student can present a new study plan. It is not possible to request changes to the study plan during exam sessions, for any reason.

Once canceled, the new study plan must be submitted during the time window indicate above.

If the cancellation, for serious and motivated reasons, should take place outside the time window indicate above, the student can only present the study plan with the assistance of the Educational Affairs Office, which must be contacted well in advance to book an appointment/or visit the same during the office hours.

It is not possible to complete the study plan by phone or with urgent requests submitted by email.

Before you start to fill in the study plan, read the following instructions carefully.

Why to present the study plan?

Filling in is essential to view and book optional or free choice courses on Infostud.

How is the study plan completed?

  • Log into your Infostud account;
  • Click on BACHELORS AND MASTERS DEGREE PROGRAMMS
  • In the menu on the left, chick on Learning Path and then click go to educational path and create a new study;
  • If the page shows you the option "individual study plan" you do not have to select it, but you must choose "Curricularare";
  • Select, among the optional exams that the study plan offers you, the one you prefer;
  • In the section “insegnamenti a scelta dello student” (courses of free choice/elective exam) you will need to select the exam, or the exams, that you intend to take as your chosen activity.

Warning!

  • it is not possible to select as an elective exam, an exam with the same epigraph, already taken or present in your study plan, even if it is with a different number of credits, (for example, if you have already taken an exam of contemporary history of 6 credits, you cannot choose again an exam of contemporary history as an elective course, even if it is with different number of  credits).
  • it is not possible neither to select exams which have different epigraphs but have the same program or which have parts of a common program.

Student Affairs Office will check the information and potentially cancel the exam, if the student does not possess the above-mentioned requisites.

As for the exams of free choice, it is not possible to select in the study plan  the generic phrase " attività a scelta dello studente ", even if it appears among the possible options, you have to select the exact courses that you intend to take as exam of your choice. The exam that you can select as free choice must be courses provided in the academic year, in which are foreseen in your degree programme. You will be able to select as your free choice/elective course, courses that are not selected as optional, or courses chosen among those provided in any other degree programme of the University, typing the exact name of the desired course, or by keywords - using the "advanced search/ricerca avanzata" function.

Master's students will be able to select both master’s and bachelor’s exams, these exams must have not already taken in their previous university career.

If you have to take a total of 9 credits of your free choice (elective course), you will be able to select: a single 9 credits course, or a 3 credits course and a 6 credits course. or even 3 courses of 3 credits. You may also choose exams whose corresponding credits do not exceed the 9 credits limit by more than 3 credits (i.e., two exams of 6 credits or one exam of 9 credits and one exam of 3 credits).

In the study plan of A.Y. 2021/2022, regardless of the year of enrollment, students will not be able to include credits from internships or traineeships among the credits of their choice, not even in addition to the number of credits required in the study plan.

After you complete the study plan the system will inform you whether you have filled out it correctly, if your study plan does not meet the requirements an error message will appear and you can use the "abc" function that you find at the top left to fix it.

  1. If the proposed study plan is correct, but you do not want to submit it yet, click on SALVA IN BOZZA (save as draft). You can save more than one study plan as a draft.
  2. Once you are sure about your study plan, you may submit it for evaluation and approval:
  3. Click on invia
  4. Click on richiedi approvazione del piano di studi
  5. The platform will ask you to confirm the submission. Click on conferma inviootherwise the study plan will stay in draft.
  6. Once your study plan has been approved, you will be able to see and register for exams on InfoStud.

The approval of the study plan is subject to the evaluation of the same by a commission of professors, and, considering that there are hundreds of requests, the expected waiting time to get a response from the commission (rejection / approval of the study plan) is about 7/10 days.

Furthermore, after the approval of the study plan, it takes an additional 24/48 hours for the gomp and infostud system platforms to align and allow the student to view information on infostud (dates and booked exams) of the courses included in the new study plan.

For this reason, students are encouraged to schedule changes based on booking deadlines, and not to send "urgent requests" for cancellation and / or approval of study plans close to the deadlines, since it will not be possible to meet such requests.
