Graduation

The final exam consists in the development and discussion of a theoretical, experimental, or design thesis on topics related to Chemical Engineering, also in collaboration with public and private bodies, manufacturing and service companies and research centers operating in the field of interest.
The thesis work, first of all, will require the student, first of all, to analyze the technical literature related to the subject under study and to proceed to a synthesis of the already acquired knowledge. Subsequently, the student, according to the type of the thesis should:
- give his/her personal solutions to the proposed problem through a modellizations capable of analyzing the response of the system related to variations in the characteristic variables of the system itself;
- in the case of experimental work, elaborate a plan of the experiments in order to obtain the desired results and, subsequently, model the results, to extend their validity to different conditions from those investigated;
- in the case of design work, also through the use of calculation codes, identify the most convenient process (analysing the technological, economic, safety, environmental impact, control and economic aspects) by designing the plant itself or the relevant process units.
The final exam is worth 20 CFU.
