All students are required to submit a study plan online through the procedure "Percorsi formativi/GOMP/INFOSTUD". Students cannot take exams that are not included in their study plan (see Note 1). Selected exams are to be considered in relation to the academic year of students’ enrolment. The list of exams to be included in a study plan (including possible future changes) needs to be formally submitted BEFORE taking the exams. For students enrolling after a passage or transfer, the study plan is filled in by the Educational Affairs Office after recognition of previous credits.  

Study plans can be submitted in given periods of every academic year, usually during the autumn semester of the year and during the following spring semester:

1 November - 30 November (with approval by 31 December)

15 March - 15 April (with approval by 31 July)

As the first two years of the course are equal and mandatory for all students, it is strongly suggested to present the study plan during the 2nd semester of the 2nd year (as the first exams to be chosed are scheduled during the 3rd year). In particular in april of each year, a seminar is given (in Italian) on how to present a study plan and related rules, therefore it is suggested to wait for such a seminar before submitting a study plan.
 

PLEASE NOTE:

• IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO FILL IN/MODIFY THE STUDY PLAN IN OTHER PERIODS OUTSIDE THE DEDICATED TIME WINDOWS.
• THE STUDY PLAN CAN BE PRESENTED ONLY IN ONE OF THE TWO TIME WINDOWS, WHICH MEANS THAT YOUR STUDY PLAN CAN BE PRESENTED ONLY ONCE FOR EACH ACADEMIC YEAR. 

For students of the Computer and System Engineering Bachelor's Degree filling in the study plan entails:

1. Curriculum choice

2. Choice of courses from the OPTIONAL group

3. Choice of Laboratory Activities.
   Please note that the Laboratory courses can only chosen from this category only and not from elective courses.

4. Choice of free credits.
   Please note that laboratory courses cannot be included in this category.

During their third year, and within the prescibed time period, students can make changes to their study plan. Only one study plan can be approved for each academic year. This means that once they have been submitted and approved, study plans cannot be modified until the following academic year and students must take the exams indicated in their study plans. Furthermore, when changes occur in years following the first, the regulations in rule at the time of enrolment apply, regulations are those of the enrolment year, particularly for the existing and selectable courses. 

Before submitting their study plan, students are invited to contact the appropriate contact professor (as indicated below) during their office hours in the following situations:

• To choose credits in category 4 besides those offered as part of the Computer and System Engineering Programme, or offerede as part of any other Engineering Programme.
• Exams which are part of the curriculum whose contents have already been acquired (in the case of transfer from other Universities or Degree Programmes).

NOTES REGARDING STUDY PLANS:

• Students must indicate their motivation for choosing OPTIONAL courses in the “Note” section.
• Students of third year or following years making changes to their study plan approved during the previous academic year, must mention in the “Note” section both the exam they would like to replace and the one they would like to include with related motivation.

If no motivation is specified, study plans will automatically be refused.

NOTE 1: According to Sapienza's regulations, students can only register and sit for exams included in their study plans for the academic year they are enrolled in. This means, for instance, that a second year student can only sit for second year exams as provided by his/her study plan, and cannot sit for third year exams. Please note that "free credits" exams (12 optional credits) are by definition third year exams, and thus first or second year students cannot take them (nor register for them).
