The histological diagnosis: tissue biopsy, tissue fixation, paraffin-embedding, frozen sections procedures, criteria of light microscopy examination of tissue sections.
Immunohistochemical staining: the principles of the technique, pitfalls and quality controls, diagnostic relevance.
Cancer diagnosis: the morphological diagnosis of cancer at tissue level, tumor invasiveness, histogenesis and classification of tumors, liquid biopsy.

All lessons are held in person and in English.

75% attendance is required for each course in the teaching module.

Some topics will be assessed through a written exam consisting of multiple-choice quizzes. However, students may only take the oral exam, which generally follows the written exam if they fail the exam.

Written quiz questions are always in English with 4 or 5 answers, of which only 1 is correct.
The oral exam is based on questions on topics covered in class.
