The aim of this course is to provide an introduction to clinical psychology. The course aims to provide basic knowledge in contemporary clinical psychology, to then question its boundaries and foundations. Specifically, male and female students will acquire:
1. Knowledge and understanding: the course will introduce students to some of the main approaches to clinical psychology,
highlighting areas of study, vocabulary and methodologies.
2. Ability to apply knowledge and understanding: the course will make it possible to understand the complexity of the psychological well-being/pathology continuum.
3. Making judgments
4. Communication skills
Further specific objectives of the module concern the ability to autonomously investigate the contours of specific psychological problems that may concern individuals and specifically healthcare professionals. Students will acquire skills related to the vocabulary and methodologies of clinical psychology, identifying adequate communication tools and strategies in the description of the phenomena in question.
