Module: Pharmacology
Drug classification: small molecules, biologics, ATMP: safety, tolerability, efficacy,
costs, and simplicity of pharmacological treatment; drug development; principles of pharmacodynamics,
agonists, antagonists, positive and negative allosteric modulators; definition of habit, tolerance and
dependence; ionotropic and metabotropic receptors; pharmacology of dopamine receptors,
noradrenergic, serotonergic, histaminergic, muscarinic and nicotinic; GABA-A receptors; principles of
pharmacokinetics; absorption, distribution, metabolism and elimination of drugs; chemotherapy
antibiotic: antibiotic resistance, beta-lactam antibiotics, glycopeptides and glycopopeitides; aminoglycosides;
tetracyclines; macrolides, other antibiotics that interact with the 50 S subunit of the bacterial ribosme;
sulphonamides; fluoroquinolones; polymyxins.
