In order to understand and use the concepts described in the teaching, knowledge of the basic elements of molecular and cellular mechanisms, of Anatomy and Physiology, as well as of the basic, general and clinical principles of nursing is required.
Programme
Module:
1. Diseases of the cardiovascular system.
Hints of anatomy and physiology, diagnostics of the cardiovascular system, arterial hypertension, atherosclerotic vasculopathy, the prevention of vascular damage, cardiovascular risk, acute coronary syndrome, congenital heart disease, rheumatic disease and valvular heart disease, heart failure, myocarditis and cardiomyopathy, arrhythmias, pericarditis and endocarditis.
2. Diseases of the respiratory system.
Hints of anatomy and physiology, respiratory system diagnostics, bronchial asthma, COPD, interstitial pneumopathies, pleural effusion, pneumothorax, respiratory tract infections, pulmonary embolism
3. Diseases of the gastrointestinal system.
Hints of anatomy and physiology, symptomatology, diagnostics of the gastrointestinal system, diseases of the esophagus, diseases of the stomach, diseases of the small intestine, chronic inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), the pancreas, acute and chronic pancreatitis
4. Diseases of the liver and biliary tract.
Hints of anatomy and physiology with special reference to metabolic functions of the liver, laboratory and instrumental diagnostics, jaundice, acute and chronic HBV and HCV viral hepatitis, liver damage, cirrhosis.
Cholelithiasis and cholecystitis
5. Diseases of the kidneys and urinary tract.
Hints of anatomy and physiology, the renin-angiotensin system and its role in the genesis of hypertension, signs and symptoms of renal disease, urinalysis, assessment of renal function, instrumental diagnostics, glomerular diseases, tubulointerstitial nephropathies, vascular nephropathies, nephrolithiasis, obstructive uropathy, benign prostatic hypertrophy, urinary tract infections, acute and chronic renal failure
6. Blood diseases.
Hints of anatomy and physiology, anemias, hints of myelo- and lymphoproliferative syndromes, MGUS and multiple myeloma, hemotransfusions.
7. Diseases of the endocrine system.
Hints of anatomy and physiology, pathology of the pituitary gland, hyper- and hypothyroidism, diabetes mellitus.
8. Connective tissue diseases and vasculitis
