Lessons mode
Clinical placement is carried out in affiliated hospital and community healthcare settings characterised by increasing clinical and organisational complexity. Students actively participate in managing the nursing process with responsibilities appropriate to their level of competence under the supervision of qualified clinical tutors. Learning activities include management of clinical cases, briefing and debriefing sessions, interdisciplinary discussions, reflective practice, and continuous assessment of competency achievement.
Frequency
Attendance is compulsory in accordance with the Degree Programme regulations. Students must complete all scheduled clinical placement hours and make up any absences according to the procedures established by the Degree Programme.
Exam mode
The Traineeship 3 examination consists of a single assessment involving the discussion of a clinical case or the nursing management of a patient throughout the preoperative, intraoperative and postoperative phases, together with the related nursing procedure. Assessment focuses on clinical reasoning, nursing assessment, nursing diagnoses, care planning, scientific terminology, communication skills and confidence during presentation. Technical competence is evaluated through the correct sequence of the procedure, the description of each action and overall professional competence. The final grade is based on practical and technical performance (60%) and clinical placement evaluation (40%). The examination is passed with a minimum score of 18/30.

Arguments
- Third-year clinical placements are scheduled alternately with classroom teaching. Placements are mainly undertaken in high-acuity settings, including intensive care units and emergency departments, with the aim of consolidating advanced clinical competencies and professional autonomy. Students further develop skills in managing complex clinical situations, setting care priorities, clinical decision-making, interprofessional teamwork and the care of critically ill patients.
