1. Knowledge and ability to understand: at the end of the course the student will know the structure and function of the kidney and the main pathological changes identified cme renal syndromes. In particular it will be able to perform the correct nursing practices in cases of patients with chronic renal failure in itsdifferent stages, acute renal failure, nephrotic syndrome and nephritic syndrome, implementing in these cases the correct procedures specific to the different syndromes.
2. Applied knowledge and comprehension : thanks to the preparation and presentation during the course of cards dedicated to practical procedures such as the collection of different types of urine tests, the execution of the EGA, the use of central venous Catare, the student will be able to manage these activities in daily practice
3. Autonomy of judgment: the student will be able to evaluate independently the correct procedures to be performed in the main renal syndromes
4. Communication skills: During the course, students must present to the class the result of their projects using multimedia tools.
5. Learning skills: through the presentation of the main scientific societies in the field of nephrological nursing, the student will have the necessary tools to pursue independently the study of the subject


Module:
At the end of the course the student must have fundamental knowledge of the hematopoietic system and the notions for a correct classification of blood diseases, both neoplastic and non-neoplastic, with particular attention to deficiency and thalassemic anemias, coagulation mechanisms, immunohaemolytic anemias, in particular maternal-fetal and transfusion incompatibilities, the related pathophysiological and clinical conditions, classification and management.

The course therefore aims to recall the main functions of the kidney and the main renal pathologies and then focus on the role of the nurse in the assistance of different types of patients with impaired kidney function. Students must have good knowledge of kidney anatomy and physiology

3. Chronic kidney disease, quantitative and qualitative evaluation of renal function and diuresis.
4. Staging chronic kidney disease, role of the nurse in different stages
5. Acute renal failure: diagnosis, causes, role of the nurse
6. Hemodialytic replacement treatment (special attention on vascular access)
7. Peritoneal dialysis and haemodialysis at home
8. The kidney transplant
9. Nutritional and replacement dietary therapy of renal failure.

Immunohemolytic anemias: AB0 and Rhesus system, Coombs test, maternal-fetal isoimmunization
Lymphoproliferative syndromes: lymphomas (diagnosis, clinical characteristics, outline of therapy),
chronic lymphocytic leukemia, multiple myeloma (diagnosis, clinical characteristics, notes on
therapy)
Polyglobulies: relative and absolute erythrocytosis. Granolucytopenia. platelets,
Thrombocytopenia and thrombocytopathies, haemostasis and thrombosis, haemorrhagic diseases, Haemophilia
Notes on transfusion therapy (indications for transfusion, reactions)
