Learning outcomes

The student will develop professional skills by integrating practical knowledge acquired in the field with theoretical knowledge. The internship will also provide an opportunity to develop a professional identity and sense of belonging. Furthermore, the student will be able to carry out, under guidance, an observation and reflection on the activities performed in order to verify the application of what has been learned at a theoretical level.
The student will be expected to actively engage in the training experience, gradually increasing in both responsibility and skill as they develop the required competencies.

Prerequisites

Students who may access the internship are those who:
have regularly attended the theoretical training activities
have regularly attended the laboratory sessions identified as preparatory to the internship.
Furthermore, before starting the internship activities, the student must undergo the necessary medical examinations for health surveillance, as well as the training and information required by current legislation on workplace safety.

Programme

Clinical internship carried out in outpatient clinics and orthopedic, neurological, and neurotraumatology units of the University Hospital affiliated with the course. Activities focused on clinical observation and supervised performance of basic manual techniques, under the guidance of clinical physiotherapist tutors

Lessons mode

Internship carried out in rehabilitation settings appropriate to the students' level of learning, including departments relevant to the subjects covered during the second year of the course.

Presentation and discussion of a clinical case, along with a practical exam during which knowledge is assessed on both a theoretical and practical level. The questions may focus on the internship experience from the first and second year.
