Learning outcomes

- Understand the pathophysiological basis of major cardio-respiratory diseases requiring rehabilitation.
- Recognize timing and modalities of rehabilitation after thoracic and cardio-pulmonary surgery.
- Assess patient’s clinical status through cardio-respiratory monitoring.
- Apply respiratory and muscular rehabilitation protocols for post-operative recovery.
- Work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
- Identify common complications and prevention strategies.
- Tailor rehabilitation programs to individual patients.

Prerequisites

- Basic knowledge of cardio-respiratory anatomy and physiology.
- Fundamentals of general pathology and pharmacology.
- Basic skills in clinical and instrumental semiology in thoracic diseases.
