Objectives

The student must be familiar with serological and culture-based laboratory tests used in bacterial and viral infections; they must know the laboratory tests for human parasitic infections.
The student must be knowledgeable about the use of molecular pathology techniques for DNA analysis applied to bacterial, viral, and parasitic diseases.
The student acquires knowledge regarding the risks associated with biological agents and the behavioral regulations.
