Objectives



Occupational Medicine Course



The course aims to provide guidance on the legislative principles, and methods of application of existing rules on "health and safety at the workplace", referring in particular to the prevention and the protection of the residual risks for the figure of the T.R.M.I.R.

 History, definition and application areas of Occupational Medicine
 National legislation on safety and health at the workplace
 Accident at work and occupational diseases definitions
 Basic concepts of hazard, risk, prevention, and protection at work
 Classification of the occupational main risk factors for health and safety
 Key aspects of the Legislative Decree no. 81/2008: general protection measures, prevention figures, their duties and responsibilities
 "Risk Assessment" and “Risk management”
 Information, education and training, safety signs and procedures
 Personal protective equipment (PPE)
 Definitions, pathophysiology and prevention elements:
• Exposure to ionizing and non ionizing radiations
• Exposures to carcinogens and mutagens
• Exposure to chemicals
• Exposures to biological agents: standard precautions and vaccinations
• Manual handling and patients handling
• Night shift work
• Work on other risk factors for health (VDT, work-related stress, etc.)
 Workplace aggressions, prevention and management
 Health surveillance and medical surveillance of radiation protection activities

Learning outcomes

The student will be able to understand and understand the radiation protection issues inherent in the profession, the main legislative objectives regarding occupational health protection, and the implications of laws related to forensic medicine in the medical field, .the concepts of occupational hygiene. These outcomes must be clear, measurable, and student-focused. Lessons mode

The course delivery options include in-person (classroom), e-learning (asynchronous), and blended (blended) learning, the latter combining the two. E-learning is only available in cases of documented need. Seminars are also available upon student request to further explore the lessons.

Frequency

Attendance at classroom-based teaching activities, elective teaching activities (ADE), and supplementary
activities is mandatory.
Attendance is recorded by instructors using the assessment methods established by the Degree
Council (CCdS). To take the exam, students must attend classroom lectures for a number of hours equal to or greater than 67% of the hours assigned to the individual modules, in accordance with the relevant European regulations.
