Course program
Structure of matter and molecules; basic inorganic chemistry (atomic/molecular weight, mole, Avogadro’s number, formula mass; irreversible/reversible reactions; equilibrium, K, mass‑action law).
Kinetics and enzymes (intro).
Organic chemistry (intro) and disinfectants (overview).
Carbohydrates and derived polymers; ATP; glycolysis/gluconeogenesis; insulin/glucagon.
Energy metabolism: Krebs cycle and oxidative phosphorylation; ROS.
Lipids: saturated/unsaturated fatty acids, triglycerides, phospholipids, cholesterol; ketogenesis.
Proteins: amino acids, peptide bond, structure/functions; protein and nitrogen‑base catabolism.
Hemoglobin and nucleic acids (DNA/RNA).
Prerequisites
Basics of chemistry and biology provided during secondary school education. There are not preparatory courses.
