Learning outcomes
By the end of the course, students are expected to have developed an in-depth understanding of the structure of eukaryotic and prokaryotic cells, including their morphological, functional, and metabolic features that determine their organization and interactions with the environment.
Furthermore, students should be able to demonstrate that they have acquired the theoretical knowledge and critical skills necessary to interpret biological phenomena from an evolutionary perspective, recognizing the mechanisms of adaptation, selection, and diversification that underlie the complexity of life.
Prerequisites
A solid understanding of the fundamental principles of General Biology, with a specific focus on the structural and functional organization of eukaryotic and prokaryotic cells, as well as on the main biochemical processes and metabolic reactions that regulate their vital activities.

Course attendance requirements
Attendance at the course "Cellular and Molecular Basis of Life" is mandatory for all enrolled students.
Attendance verification methods: Attendance verification is carried out through signature on attendance sheet in the classroom during class hours. The signature can be made:
• During the break between the first and second class hour
• During subsequent breaks between class hours
• At any time during scheduled breaks of the teaching day
Student responsibility: It is the student's responsibility to verify that they have correctly signed the attendance sheet at the established times and methods. Requests for retroactive attendance integration will not be accepted.
Exam mode
Assessment of learning will consist of written tests during the course, written examinations on the scheduled examination dates, and a final oral examination.
