At the end of the course, the student will be able to assess, plan, and implement personalized rehabilitative interventions for older adults, integrating knowledge of neurology and internal medicine with nursing and technical-rehabilitation skills, in order to promote functional recovery, prevent complications, and maintain autonomy and quality of life in geriatric patients.

To effectively undertake the course Rehabilitation in the Geriatric Area, students should possess a basic knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and general pathology, with particular reference to physiological and pathological aging processes.
They are also expected to have foundational knowledge in neurology, internal medicine, and nursing sciences, useful for understanding the main clinical, care, and rehabilitative needs of older adults.
It is desirable that students are able to apply the principles of clinical and rehabilitative reasoning and demonstrate appropriate relational and communication skills for the comprehensive care of geriatric patients.

The course is conducted through lectures aimed at providing the theoretical knowledge necessary to understand the principles and practices of rehabilitation in the geriatric field.
Teaching activities may be supplemented by clinical case discussions, practical exercises, group work, and interdisciplinary exchanges with lecturers from the different subject areas.

Attendance is mandatory, in accordance with the regulations of the degree program.
