Learning outcomes
Students will have acquired the theoretical knowledge, practical skills, and interpersonal skills necessary to assist women during labor, childbirth, and the postpartum period, promoting safety, autonomy, and respect for the physiology of the birth process.
At the end of the course, students will be able to:
recognize the stages of labor and normal birth
apply evidence-based care procedures
independently manage maternal-fetal monitoring during normal labor/childbirth
promote women's physical and mental well-being through non-pharmacological pain management techniques
promote bonding and the initiation of breastfeeding immediately after birth.
Prerequisites
Prerequisites (not mandatory): knowledge of the anatomy and physiology of the female reproductive system.
