Lessons mode
Classes are held in person using an integrated approach that combines lectures with interactive sessions, supported by multimedia presentations and case simulations.
During the lecture segments, the instructor introduces and organizes key content using PowerPoint presentations and encourages structured note-taking. Interactive sections foster applied reasoning through guided questions, brief small-group discussions, and plenary feedback, accompanied by short formative assessments. The use of presentations ensures clarity, logical flow, and access to study materials; simulations based on clinical-organizational scenarios allow participants to practice decision-making and risk management in a safe environment, followed by a structured debriefing. Critical reading of articles (journal club) develops skills in using evidence: selecting sources, synthesizing findings, conducting a basic methodological evaluation, and applying insights to practice or organizational settings.
Frequency
Mandatory attendance. At least 80% attendance. Sign-in sheet.
Exam mode
Assessment is integrated: within the same examination session, the student completes all assessments pertaining to the individual modules and must pass each with at least a satisfactory result. In-term tests or exemptions may be scheduled and contribute to the overall evaluation. The final grade is expressed on a 30-point scale, as an integration of the module results (pass ≥ 18/30); honors are awarded upon a unanimous decision. Admission to the exam is contingent upon in-person attendance of not less than 80%) of the total course hours. Reasonable accommodations, as well as compensatory tools and dispensations for students with disabilities and/or specific learning disorders (SLD), are ensured in accordance with applicable regulations.
Example exam questions
Definition of preeclampsia
Pharmacological treatment of threatened preterm labor
Treatment of eclamptic seizures
Induction of fetal lung maturity
Classification of emergency/urgent Cesarean sections
Infectious disease screening during pregnancy
Prenatal screening tests
