The students will achieve a solid understanding of (i) sociological language, (ii) major sociological theories and approaches, (iii) the methodological foundations of social research and principles of research design, and (iv) social institutions and social phenomena.
The students will develop the ability to (i) apply the concepts learned to select and comprehend scientific literature on sociological theories and social phenomena and (ii) read, apply, and interpret the findings of key sociological research techniques.
The students will acquire skills to critically analyze social phenomena and evaluate the results of sociological research.
The students will be able clearly communicate theoretical knowledge and write and produce basic research reports.
The students will independently learn and apply approaches and utilize methodological techniques for analyzing social phenomena.
