Objectives

The course aims to develop French language skills in professional and business contexts, with a focus on written and oral communication in typical business situations.
By the end of the course, students will be able to:
• understand texts and documents in French related to business and economic activities;
• write emails, business letters, and short reports in French clearly and appropriately;
• interact orally in meetings, presentations, or basic negotiations;
• use essential specialized vocabulary relevant to the French-speaking world of work and business.

Learning outcomes

The course aims to guide students towards the following objectives set out in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR)

• understanding written messages B2

• understanding spoken messages B2

• producing spoken messages B1

The course has the following objectives:

1) to enable students to acquire the skills necessary to communicate in the context of a period of student mobility in a French-speaking country or in concrete work situations in the fields covered by the degree program;

2) to explore aspects of French culture and working environment, including the French-Italian intercultural perspective;

3) to enable students to acquire professional terminology, including through reading the French-language international press and simulate job situations;

4) to develop learning strategies for strengthening language skills, also with a view to continuing to practice the language independently.


EXPECTED LEARNING OUTCOMES

Students who pass the exam will be able to:

• master the most common communicative situations in everyday life and in the professional fields covered by the degree program in French;

• recognise (inter)cultural aspects of the French professional context;

• possess individual learning strategies that enable them to continue studying French for public communication and professional contexts in an independent way.

Prerequisites

We suggest an access to the course with level B1 for writing and speaking and level B1/B2 for listening and reading.
