Objectives
MMS INTEGRATA (I)
Through seminars on interdisciplinary clinical cases, students will be guided to know how to critically evaluate,
through a correct clinical reasoning, the symptoms and clinical signs and to correlate them to the pathophysiological knowledge related to cardiovascular, respiratory and renal diseases more frequent in daily clinical practice. Particular importance will be given to the presentation of paradigmatic clinical cases of medical-surgical system pluripatologie.
The final objective will be the acquisition of an adequate differential diagnostic capacity useful for identifying the most suitable instrumental examinations for the resolution of the presented clinical case.
MMS INTEGRATA (II)
Through interdisciplinary seminars the student will be guided to be aware of the epidemiological and socio-economic relevance of the main endocrine-metabolic and digestive diseases foreseen in the integrated course. It will be able to critically evaluate and correlate clinical symptoms, physical signs and functional alterations with pathogenic causes.
It will also be brought to know the clinical process to put an exact differential diagnosis also through the use of instrumental techniques. Last but not least, the therapeutic aspect will be considered.
The importance of the scientific method in medicine is universally recognized, both with regards to the specific knowledge of medical methodology and its rules, according to the principles of evidence-based medicine, and to clinical methodology applied to the single patient.
This integrated course aims to guide students towards a unified training and, using the individual and specific skills of the teachers in the clinical, surgical, and radiological fields, guide them through their scientific-professional training.
At the end of the course, the student shall be able to identify the correct methodology, useful for the diagnostic and clinical classification of patients affected by thoracic or abdominal pain, liver disease, dyspnea, syncope, metabolic and nutrition disorders.

Making independent judgments: Ability to formulate diagnostic hypotheses, to make decisions within the diagnostic algorithm, and to sustain clinical judgements independently and critically.
Communication skills: Ability to communicate effectively through appropriate use of medical terminology.
Learning skills: Ability to develop independent learning and the ability to continue professional development through the ability to critically evaluate, through sound clinical reasoning, clinical symptoms and signs, and to correlate them with pathophysiological knowledge of the most common cardiovascular, respiratory, and renal diseases in daily clinical practice.
