By the end of the course the student must:
-have acquired the knowledge, and the ability to respect ethical values and the main laws governing the organization of health, as well as the rules of ethics and professional liability, both in criminal and civil
-have acquired an understanding of the ethical principles and legal rules that underpin the relationship with the patient and behavior in medical practice, within the national social security system and in the context of out-of-hospital operation
- be familiar with the ethical and legal dimensions of national and international debate on advanced healthcare directives, physician assisted suicide and euthanasia; and clinical trials
- to know how to orient oneself in the ethical and juridical controversies regarding the medically assisted procreation, the voluntary interruption of the pregnancy, the genetic tests and the regenerative medicine
- knowledge of thanatology and medico-legal pathology
- knowledge of forensic psychiatry and legislation in the field of psychiatry.

At the end of the course, the student must know the following topics. The purpose and method of forensic medicine, as well as the concept of causal relationship. The medical profession, with particular attention to deontology, ethics, professional responsibility, and healthcare treatments. Forensic medicine in the context of criminal law, including criminal responsibility, liability, crimes against life and personal safety, sexual crimes, clinical criminology, and forensic psychology. Forensic medicine in the context of civil law, including personal rights, personal injury in civil liability, and family law. Thanatology and organ transplants, the concept of injury, general principles of toxicology and related legislation, and general principles of forensic hematology. The legal provisions for the social protection of working women, maternity, voluntary termination of pregnancy (Law 194/78), and people with mental illness. Finally, knowledge of the social insurance system (INPS and INAIL), private insurance, and civil disability is also required.

In order to understand the contests of the course and achieve the learning objectives, at the beginning of the teaching activities provided for by the teaching module the student must possess the basic kwoledge of the degree course and he must have passed the preparatory exams in accordance with the teaching regulations of the Degree Program.

Definition and partition of Forensic medicine; crimes against life and individual safety; obligation of information to the Judicial Authority. Obligations of reporting infective and diffusive diseases; outlines on social insurances; civil law forensic medicine (juridical faculty and power of action, interdiction, disqualification). Professional ethics. Consent of the assignee; professional secret; failure to assist; patient’s medical chart; obligations resulting from the law on drugs; TSO; acts done under necessity; professional responsibility of the nurse. Medico-legal pathology, thanatochronology. the judicial inspection. Forensic Psychiatry.
This program will be carried out during the VI year II semester of the CdS with schedule of the lessons published on the website of the CdS in the section dedicated to the timetable of the lessons.

To pass the exame, we suggesta theoretical deedening already frome the beginning of the course attendance.

The instructor delivers lectures using a traditional teaching approach, supported by audiovisual aids, and according to the class schedule available on the GOMP Classroom/Timetable System and published on the Degree Program website.

Following the Regulations of the CdS, the student is required to attend educational activities, formal, non-formal, vocational. The attendance is checked by the teachers through signature / roll call, based on updated lists provided by the Academic Office, as established by CCL. The certificate of attendance to the course is mandatory and required to the student to be admitted at the final exam.

The course includes a written test that determinates the eligibility to take the other teaching modules of the integrated course which will be achiedev by the student with a grade of not less than 18/30.
To pass the exam is necessary to achieve a grade of not less than 18/30 in each module. The student must demonstrate that they have acquired sufficient knowledge of the topics of the medico-legal program.
To achieve a score of 30/30 cum laude, the student must instead demonstrate that he has acquired an excellent knowledge of all the topics covered during the course and included in the program, he must also be able to connect them in a logical and coherent way.

The obligation to report diffusive infectious diseases:
to. It concerns the doctor in the exercise of his functions, both as a freelancer and as an employed doctor
b. It concerns only infectious diseases of the respiratory system
c. It was born following the Sars-Cov-2 pandemic
d. It is not useful for the purposes of understanding the epidemiological reality
