LAB OF ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING Single channel

Chair (Coordinator) and Rapporteur: LUANA BOTTINI

Lecturers

Objectives

Provide the theoretical and practical abilities to fabricate a functional component via Additive Manufacturing technologies. In particular: - cabability to manage, repair and process a 3D model; - choice of the process parameters taking into account the post-processing and the further secondary operations; - spread among several secondary operations typical of AM technologies; predict the cost and time needed for the entire process.

Learning outcomes

Analysis and design applied to the planning of Additive Manufacturing processes taking into account the features and the differences of the specific process.
Development of transversal skills such as self-learning, communication and teamwork ones.

Prerequisites

Knowledge of CAD software

Lessons mode

The course is composed by theoretical/practical lessons to describe the additive processes and the software for processes pianification. In addition some laboratory visits will be organized giving to the students the possibility to use some 3D printers machines.

Frequency

In presence.

Exam mode

The exam constists in a project development (to do in group) and in its oral presentation.

Example exam questions

Project development: design of the additive processes fabrication of a specific mechanical component.
