The course aims to provide the theoretical and practical tools necessary to understand and apply the logic of storytelling in the context of performing arts and digital media. The objective is to analyse storytelling practices applied to live performance and digital media, with a particular focus on cross-media and transmedia languages. Alongside the analysis of the fundamentals of storytelling and the study of international case studies, the course addresses the impact of digital technologies on contemporary performance (video mapping, augmented and virtual reality, immersive environments, artificial intelligence). The course includes lectures, case study analysis, practical workshops and a collective design workshop. In addition to practical activities, there will be tests on the theoretical part taught in the classroom during the course, in order to consolidate the knowledge acquired. Students, divided into groups, will be guided in the creation of a narrative concept with cross-media development, which will constitute the final test. During the course, professionals from the sector will be invited to give guest lectures.

The course consists of a theoretical part followed by a practical part in which students will be divided into groups to develop a collective cross-media writing project.

Attending students will have ongoing tests to assess their learning of theoretical concepts. The final exam will consist of a group presentation of a collective cross-media writing project.
Non-attending students will take an oral exam on theoretical concepts and present an essay or cross-media adaptation to be agreed upon with the lecturer.

The questions will be based on the texts indicated in the course programme.
